Binance says its AI-powered security measures stopped more than $10.5 billion in potential user losses from scams and fraud between January 2025 and March 2026.
The company reports these systems protected over 5.4 million users by using more than 24 AI projects and 100 internal models to fight large-scale crypto fraud.

AI helps protect against new deepfake threats
Binance points out that it is now easier for cybercriminals to launch phishing and impersonation scams because they use generative AI. To fight back, Binance uses computer vision to spot fake payment proofs and real-time language analysis to find scam patterns in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) transactions.
Recent data shows that AI now runs 57% of Binance’s fraud controls. This change has cut card fraud rates by 60 to 70% compared to industry averages. For identity checks, these automated systems are almost 100 times more efficient than manual KYC, especially when dealing with advanced deepfakes and fake identities that can slip past normal checks.
Binance recovery and prevention efforts
Beyond automated prevention, Binance has intensified its recovery efforts. In 2025, the company helped recover $12.8 million in 48,000 cases, a 41% increase from the previous year. It also blacklisted 36,000 malicious addresses between January 2025 and March 2026. Still, Binance says user education is crucial, since social engineering keeps taking advantage of people’s trust and urgency with AI-cloned voices and fake platforms.
Meanwhile, Binance has expanded its Institutional Loan service, now allowing all KYB-verified VIP users to borrow against their crypto holdings. The company has also introduced higher leverage, fixed-rate loans, and a new interest rebate program. The previous VIP 5 requirement has been removed, so institutional users verified under Know Your Business (KYB) rules from VIP 1 level can now use the service.
