Manta Network to Shut Down BNB Chain $MANTA Bridge After Security Review

MANTA’s outlook is still mixed, with recent security worries weighing on sentiment but longer-term expectations staying positive. In the short term, concern picked up after a Hyperbridge exploit involving wrapped assets, including MANTA. The issue did not affect Manta Network’s main system, so the damage appears limited to confidence rather than any core technical failure.

Looking ahead, some forecasts remain optimistic, with potential price ranges of about $0.20 to $0.80 in 2026. That view is largely based on staking activity, growth on Manta Pacific, and the project’s shift toward building more app-focused tools and use cases.

Separately, Manta Network has said it will shut down its LayerZero OFT bridge for $MANTA on BNB Chain from May 12, 2026, at 00:00 UTC. The move follows an internal review of how the bridge is being used, along with rising caution around security risks linked to LayerZero-based bridges across the space.

Bridge Closure Follows Low Activity and Risk Reassessment

The team said the BNB Chain bridge has seen consistently low transaction volume and limited circulating supply activity, making continued operation less efficient relative to its maintenance and security requirements. As a result, resources will be redirected toward strengthening the core Manta Pacific ecosystem.

The shutdown applies only to the LayerZero OFT bridge connecting BNB Chain and Manta Pacific. Other infrastructure remains unaffected, including the official Ethereum-to-Manta Pacific bridge, which will continue normal operations. Tokens held on centralized exchanges are also not impacted.

Migration Window Opens Ahead of Final Shutdown Date

Users holding $MANTA on BNB Chain have been advised to bridge their assets back to Manta Pacific before the shutdown deadline. The migration window remains open until May 12, after which transfers between the two networks will no longer be supported.

The recommended process involves using the official bridge interface to transfer tokens from BNB Chain to Manta Pacific, confirming wallet transactions, and completing standard gas fees. Once migrated, tokens will reside on Manta Pacific as part of the network’s primary ecosystem.

The project emphasized that users interacting with decentralized finance protocols on BNB Chain should withdraw assets to self-custody wallets before initiating migration to avoid potential complications. BNB Chain has joined forces with CMB International Asset Management (CMBIAM), a subsidiary of China Merchants Bank, to launch one of Asia-Pacific’s top-performing money market funds onchain.
