Quick Breakdown
- Securitize received EU-wide licensing to operate a distributed ledger-based tokenized market infrastructure on Avalanche.
- The platform connects to its U.S. system, enabling regulated issuance and trading of tokenized assets, such as equities and bonds, across the EU.
- Launching in early 2026, this initiative bolsters institutional participation in blockchain finance by providing a controlled, legally compliant environment for tokenized securities.
Securitize has secured full authorization from the European Union to operate a regulated tokenized trading and settlement system under the EU’s DLT Pilot Regime, marking a significant milestone for blockchain-based financial infrastructure. This licensed system, operating on Avalanche (AVAX), will connect directly with Securitize’s existing U.S. platform, enabling compliant issuance, trading, and settlement of tokenized securities across all 27 EU member states. This sets the stage for the first regulated tokenized asset issuances in early 2026, reflecting growing institutional demand in the region.
We have obtained regulatory approval to operate as both an Investment Firm and a Trading & Settlement System (TSS) in the European Union (EU) using the @avax blockchain.

EU-Wide regulated tokenization platform on Avalanche
The approval granted by Spain’s CNMV allows Securitize to operate a unified on-chain marketplace for the trading and settlement of tokenized equities, bonds, and other financial instruments. The pilot regime offers select regulatory exemptions, facilitating real-world testing of distributed ledger technology without disrupting existing market frameworks. Avalanche was selected for its low latency, custom logic capabilities, and increasing adoption by asset managers, highlighted by BlackRock’s $500 million tokenized money-market assets to the network. Securitize is thus positioned as a leader in bridging U.S. and EU-regulated token markets.
Driving institutional adoption and compliance
Securitize’s dual-regulated platform provides institutional participants with a compliant channel to issue and manage real-world assets on-chain under robust legal guardrails. By merging conventional securities with on-chain funds, the ecosystem supports mainstream investment vehicles leveraging blockchain’s transparency and efficiency. The company’s innovative regulated infrastructure complements broader industry trends toward tokenizing traditional assets to unlock liquidity and improve operational efficiencies in capital markets.
Notably, Securitize is strategically partnering with Plume Layer-2 to integrate institutional-grade tokenized assets, initially Hamilton Lane funds, into Plume’s Nest staking protocol. This allows crypto holders access to sophisticated funds previously restricted to accredited investors, expanding Securitize’s DeFi presence. The collaboration aims to deploy £100 million in capital throughout 2026, merging digital asset infrastructure with established finance.
