KuCoin Pay Partners With Digital Shield to Strengthen Self-Custody and Secure Crypto Payments

Quick Breakdown

  • KuCoin Pay forms a strategic partnership with Digital Shield to enhance secure crypto payments and self-custody.
  • Integration introduces EAL6+ hardware protection, air-gapped signing, and multi-chain wallet support.
  • Collaboration aims to deliver a seamless, secure user experience for payments, asset management, and Web3 interactions.

KuCoin Pay has entered a strategic partnership with Digital Shield, a Web3 security provider known for its military-grade hardware and software wallet systems. The collaboration aims to integrate advanced self-custody protection directly into KuCoin Pay’s payment infrastructure, offering users stronger security as crypto spending and on-chain interactions continue to scale.

Enhanced wallet security for everyday crypto use

Through this partnership, KuCoin Pay users can tap into Digital Shield’s self-custody tools, which feature an EAL6+ secure chip, fully air-gapped transaction signing, and open-source architecture for added transparency. Digital Shield also uses a dual-wallet setup: a cold hardware wallet paired with a mobile hot wallet, so users can easily move between long-term storage and everyday spending without sacrificing security.

The system supports a wide range of networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, BNB Chain, and TON, enabling users to manage multiple assets within a single interface. While designed with beginner accessibility in mind, the wallet infrastructure also caters to advanced traders and institutions that require rigorous asset protection.

Building a safer payments ecosystem

KuCoin Pay said the partnership supports its mission to make secure, everyday crypto transactions more accessible worldwide. By integrating Digital Shield’s hardware wallet tech, mobile wallet tools, and security services, KuCoin Pay hopes to minimize the risks tied to payments, transfers, and Web3 activity.

Digital Shield’s business model, spanning hardware products, security services, and ecosystem integrations, also lines up well with KuCoin Pay’s push to build a global, self-custody-focused payments network. The companies expect the integration to boost user confidence across retail payments, in-store purchases, online spending, and interactions with decentralized apps.

Both companies say the partnership highlights a shared goal: making crypto use safer, easier, and scalable for people around the world. As digital asset adoption continues to grow, the collaboration helps KuCoin Pay offer a more secure environment for everyday transactions, while still giving users direct control of their assets through institutional-grade custody tools.

The partnership comes days after KuCoin opened its new headquarters in Sydney’s central business district, part of a broader strategy to build compliance capacity and deepen community engagement in Australia.
