B2C2 Secures MiCA License in Luxembourg, Expands Crypto Trading Across Europe

Crypto liquidity provider B2C2 has secured a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, marking a major step in its European expansion under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

The approval from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) allows B2C2 to offer regulated over-the-counter (OTC) spot crypto trading services across all 27 European Union member states and three European Economic Area countries through MiCA passporting rules.

The company said the authorization makes it the first global OTC liquidity provider to obtain a CASP license under the MiCA regime.

B2C2 expands regulated crypto trading in Europe

With the new license, B2C2 can provide cross-border digital asset liquidity services under a single regulatory structure instead of relying on separate licenses in different European countries.

The firm had already registered as a virtual asset service provider in Luxembourg in 2024. The latest approval further strengthens its position in Europe as crypto firms prepare for the MiCA transition deadline in July 2026.

B2C2 CEO Thomas Restout described the approval as a key milestone for the company’s European operations.

Obtaining MiCA authorisation is a significant accomplishment for B2C2,” Restout said, adding that the license reflects the company’s focus on compliance, governance, and operational standards.

MiCA pushes more crypto firms toward regulation

Europe’s MiCA framework has continued driving crypto companies toward unified regulation across the region. The rules were first proposed by the European Commission in 2020, adopted by the European Parliament in 2023, and became fully applicable to crypto firms in December 2024.

Under the framework, licensed firms can operate across the EU using passporting rights, giving companies easier access to the bloc’s crypto market through a single approval process.

Coinbase, Kraken and Bitpanda also join MiCA race

B2C2 now joins a growing list of crypto firms operating under MiCA licenses across Europe.

Coinbase secured its MiCA license in Luxembourg in 2025 and later established the country as its main European crypto hub. Meanwhile, Kraken obtained approval in Ireland, while Bitpanda expanded its MiCA-regulated operations earlier this year.

The growing number of approvals highlights how major crypto companies are positioning themselves for regulated expansion across the European market ahead of MiCA’s full transition deadline.
