Shiba Inu, a popular meme token, got listed on the Bitcastle cryptocurrency exchange yesterday. The exchange sent a notification to its users saying the token would be available for trading on the platform.
There’s a bonus campaign ongoing to celebrate the listing. It is a 10-day reward system. You get 1000 $SHIB every day when you log in to Bitcastle, except on the 5th and 10th day. On the 5th and 10th days, 5000 and 10,000 $SHIB will be awarded, respectively.
According to the blog post, not everyone is eligible for the rewards. Multiple accounts, fake accounts, and spam profiles are not qualified for the campaign.
Shiba Inu was launched in 2020 and has experienced rapid growth in just two years. The token aims to be the Ethereum equivalent of Dogecoin (DOGE), another popular meme token.
The Shiba ecosystem supports NFTs and has a decentralized exchange known as ShibaSwap to facilitate trading. The meme token has been listed on 116 crypto exchanges since its inception, including Kucoin and Binance.
Shiba Inu is more than just a meme token, it has gained real utility in recent months. Utel University in Mexico announced the acceptance of tuition fees in over 30 cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu. The decision was made to increase the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies in the education sector.
Rafael Martinez, the Director of Institutional Liaison at Utel, said:
“As an institution that functions entirely online, it is vital that we prioritize transparency and leverage emerging technologies wherever possible. By adopting the technology, we help our students and community members become more aware of this new financial tool and its potential benefits.”
W Dubai, a 5-star hotel in Dubai, recently announced that it is now accepting $SHIB payments for hotel reservations and other services.
