Lumo Wallet said the integration combines its self-custody platform with Onramp Money’s fiat infrastructure, allowing users to move between traditional currencies and digital assets while keeping control of their funds. The wallet supports multiple blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, and is designed for both individual and business users.
The integration also removes the need for users to switch between multiple applications when purchasing or selling digital assets. Transactions are completed within the wallet while users retain ownership of their private keys.
Self-custody wallets are adding more financial services
The role of self-custody wallets has grown well beyond storing cryptocurrencies. Many wallets are adding built-in trading, staking, payments, and fiat conversion services as competition moves toward offering a more complete financial experience within a single application.
For users, the appeal is convenience without giving up control of private keys. Rather than moving funds to centralized exchanges whenever they want to buy or sell digital assets, integrated services allow transactions to happen while assets remain under the user’s own custody.
Why are crypto wallets adding fiat services?
Crypto wallets are increasingly competing to become all-in-one financial platforms rather than simple storage apps. Over the past two years, wallets such as MetaMask, Phantom, Trust Wallet, and Coinbase Wallet have grown beyond sending and receiving tokens by adding swaps, staking, token discovery, and payment features directly into their apps.
The next area of competition is fiat access. Buying crypto has traditionally required users to leave their wallets and use an exchange or third-party payment service. As more wallets integrate on- and off-ramp providers, developers are trying to remove that extra step, making self-custody wallets function more like complete financial applications while allowing users to retain control of their private keys.
Meanwhile, Onramp Money has added Ryzer, expanding its real estate investing reach. The partnership aims to make property investment easier by linking traditional money systems with digital asset rails.
