Circle Joins Agentic AI Foundation Amid Growing Push for Open AI and Blockchain Standards

The Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), dedicated to advancing interoperable agentic AI systems, has welcomed 97 new members, including 18 Gold and 79 Silver members. The expansion shows growing demand for standardized frameworks that enable autonomous AI agents to operate securely across enterprise applications and blockchain infrastructure. Circle joined as a Gold Member, highlighting the increasing connection between blockchain, stablecoins, and agentic AI.

New members such as Circle, Akamai, American Express, Autodesk, Equinix, and Global Payments will work together on open protocols, tools, and best practices. Their goal is to reduce fragmentation, improve interoperability, and speed up the use of AI agents in business settings. David Nalley, director of developer experience at AWS, is now chair of AAIF’s governing board and will lead this effort.

Circle brings blockchain expertise to agentic AI

Circle’s participation shows how digital finance and autonomous AI are coming together. Li Fan, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Circle, said that open standards and reliable financial systems are essential as programmable, internet-based money connects with autonomous AI. By joining AAIF, Circle is sharing protocols to help agentic AI interact safely with digital assets and stablecoins.

At the same time, Circle is expanding the global reach of its Circle Payments Network by adding new local-currency payout corridors across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, further advancing cross-border stablecoin payments.

Members join AAIF not just for networking but to shape practical standards that influence how autonomous systems interact with data, applications, and financial infrastructure. Circle, a leading provider of blockchain-based payment solutions, including USDC, is leveraging its membership to ensure that stablecoin and tokenized assets can be integrated into agentic AI workflows securely. Similarly, other members such as Diagrid and UiPath bring expertise in distributed systems and enterprise automation, enabling agents to operate reliably across hybrid cloud and blockchain platforms.

A growing ecosystem with global impact

With nearly 150 members, AAIF now represents a global coalition shaping the future of agentic AI. Members collaborate to build open standards, share protocols, and develop secure, interoperable tools that can operate across cloud, on-premises, and blockchain infrastructures. The expansion reflects the industry’s urgency for transparent, scalable, and enterprise-ready AI.
