Crypto exchange Coinbase has released a biting satirical video targeting the United Kingdom’s worsening economic conditions and stagnant crypto policies, as fresh data shows a sharp rise in financial vulnerability across the country.
The video, titled “Everything is Fine,” presents a dark musical parody that highlights the stark contrast between official economic optimism and the daily reality faced by millions of Britons. Set to an upbeat tune, the lyrics mockingly praise the UK’s economic state while images of decaying streets, struggling families, and rising debt paint a grim picture.

Coinbase’s critique comes as a new report by Fair4All Finance reveals that 20.3 million UK adults — roughly 44% of the population — are now living in financially vulnerable conditions, a 16% rise since 2022. The report attributes the spike to unstable employment, rising debt levels, inadequate savings, and poor health.
Particularly alarming is the 59% increase in middle-income earners carrying high levels of debt, now totaling 3.5 million people. The number of younger adults in financial distress has also surged by 45% to 1.9 million, with many trapped in zero-hour jobs or relying on “buy now, pay later” schemes.
Food insecurity is on the rise as well. Food bank usage has jumped from 11% to 15%, and half of financially vulnerable individuals say they can no longer afford a healthy diet. More households are turning to high-cost credit options, including payday loans, just to cover basic needs.
Two demographics have seen the steepest declines in financial security: low-income households with no savings, now at 3.8 million, and those entirely dependent on credit, which has grown by 12% to 3.9 million.
Additionally, Coinbase expanded its derivatives offerings by launching perpetual futures trading in the United States, granting eligible users access to high-leverage crypto trades previously unavailable under U.S. regulatory frameworks.
