Binance Founder Distances Himself from BNB Chain Meme Coin Rally

A recent surge in meme coin activity on the BNB Chain prompted a public response from Binance founder Changpeng Zhao after social media posts linked him to several fast-rising tokens.

The discussion began after a widely shared post claimed Binance’s launch of tokenized U.S. stocks had helped drive more than $1 billion in on-chain trading within a month, starting fresh activity across the BNB Chain ecosystem. The post also highlighted meme tokens including CZ, TCC, and AB, suggesting growing interest from international traders had pushed BNB Chain to the top of on-chain trading rankings.

The post further claimed TCC gained momentum after an interaction with Zhao, while AB, a token associated with the TUT team, also benefited from the renewed market attention.

CZ says he has no connection to the tokens

Zhao responded directly to the claims, saying he does not own or know any of the coins being promoted.

“I don’t own or know any of these coins,”

Zhao wrote on X. “I interact with positive people in our communities. May the best memes win!”

His statement sought to separate routine engagement with community members from any endorsement of individual projects. The clarification comes as traders frequently interpret comments, likes, or replies from prominent crypto figures as signals of support, often triggering sharp price movements in smaller tokens.

Meme coin prices often move before official statements

Public figures in crypto are increasingly issuing disclaimers when they are linked to newly promoted tokens. Social media interactions, including replies, likes, or photos, are often interpreted as endorsements even when no investment or partnership exists. As a result, founders and executives frequently clarify their positions to avoid confusion among traders and the crypto community.

In recent years, tokens have recorded large price swings after online interactions involving well-known names such as Zhao and Elon Musk. Those moves have often been followed by public clarifications stating that social media activity should not be interpreted as support for specific assets.

The pattern has made official responses increasingly common as crypto executives attempt to separate personal engagement from investment advice. Even so, meme coin markets continue to react quickly to public comments, showing how sentiment can spread faster than formal announcements.

Notably, CZ sounded the alarm over a growing wave of crypto scammers falsely claiming insider access to Binance listings. In a blunt post shared on March 25, the Binance founder made it clear: anyone promising a listing through personal connections, especially those claiming to “know CZ”, is almost certainly running a scam.
