Gate Updates DuPont Holdings After 1-for-3 Reverse Stock Split

Last updated on July 21st, 2026 at 12:05 pm

Crypto exchange Gate said it has completed position adjustments following a 1-for-3 reverse stock split by DuPont de Nemours.

The company combined every three existing shares into one share. As a result, Gate reduced users’ DuPont share holdings to one-third of their previous amount while increasing the average purchase price by the same ratio.

The exchange said the adjustment does not change the overall value of a user’s position. The value of holdings will still depend on market prices after trading resumes.

Any fractional shares created during the process would be handled according to the rules of brokers, custodians, and clearing firms. Users may receive cash compensation or other settlement methods depending on how those institutions process the remaining fractions.

Trading resumes after processing period

Gate said some DuPont-related orders may have been cancelled or temporarily restricted while the adjustment was being completed.

The exchange has now restored trading services and advised users to review their account balances and order status. DuPont is a U.S.-based materials company whose products are used in industries including semiconductors, electronics, water treatment, healthcare, construction, and manufacturing. The company is known for supplying materials used in advanced technology and industrial production.

The reverse stock split reduces the number of shares available in the market while increasing the price of each remaining share. The company’s total market value remains unchanged by the action itself.

Corporate actions reach crypto trading platforms

The announcement shows how crypto exchanges are increasingly handling events that have long been common in traditional financial markets.

Platforms such as Gate now offer products linked to stocks, commodities, and other financial assets alongside cryptocurrencies. This means events like stock splits, reverse stock splits, dividend payments, and mergers must also be reflected in customer accounts.

For crypto users, these adjustments are becoming a normal part of trading tokenized and stock-linked products on digital asset platforms. As exchanges expand beyond cryptocurrencies into financial markets, they are taking on many of the same operational tasks traditionally handled by stock brokers, including processing corporate actions and updating customer positions when listed companies make changes to their share structures.
