Alchemy Pay has obtained a Money Transmitter License in the state of Maine, adding another regulatory approval to its growing U.S. footprint as it continues to scale its fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure.
The license allows the company to carry out regulated money transmission services involving both fiat and virtual currencies in Maine. This includes exchange services and custodial-related activities for personal and household use. The approval can be verified through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
With Maine added, Alchemy Pay now holds Money Transmitter Licenses across 17 U.S. states, including Arizona, Oregon, Minnesota, Wyoming, Delaware, and others. Maine license strengthens Alchemy Pay’s fiat-to-crypto payment infrastructure
The new license gives Alchemy Pay more room to operate regulated fiat-crypto services in the U.S. market, including its on-ramp and off-ramp payment systems used by businesses and consumers.
The company said the approval strengthens its ability to support compliant cross-border payment flows while maintaining alignment with evolving regulatory expectations. It also supports its broader payment network, which processes fiat transactions across 173 countries.
Alchemy Pay positions itself as a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets, offering tools such as crypto payment gateways, Web3 banking services, and tokenized asset access for merchants and developers.
How Alchemy Pay’s U.S. expansion connects to its global stablecoin payment strategy
The licensing milestone also ties into Alchemy Pay’s wider strategy around stablecoin-based global payments and its long-term development of Alchemy Chain, a blockchain initiative focused on compliant cross-border settlement.
The company is building toward a dual-compliance framework that aligns with regulatory regimes such as MiCA in Europe and emerging stablecoin rules in Hong Kong. It also continues to expand regulatory approvals in markets including Australia, South Korea, and Switzerland.
Alchemy Pay said its goal is to support stablecoins as a global settlement layer for merchants, institutions, and financial applications, while continuing to grow its licensed presence across major financial markets.
Additionally, Alchemy Pay recently expanded its institutional reach by joining the Mastercard Crypto Partner Program and securing money transmitter licenses across multiple jurisdictions, bolstering the network’s off-ramp capabilities in 173 countries.
