Blockchain.com and Ondo Finance have extended their partnership to bring tokenized U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds on-chain to users across Europe, as demand grows for blockchain-based access to traditional financial markets.
The rollout, announced on February 4, allows eligible users in more than 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries to buy, sell, and hold regulated, tokenized U.S. equities directly within the Blockchain.com DeFi wallet. The move builds on a similar launch last year in Africa and South America, where more than 200 tokenized stocks and ETFs were introduced to users.

On-Chain equities gain traction in Europe
Through Ondo Global Markets, European users can now access U.S.-listed stocks without opening traditional brokerage accounts. Assets are held in self-custody via the Blockchain.com wallet, removing intermediaries while maintaining exposure to regulated markets.
Since launching in September 2025, Ondo Global Markets has seen rapid adoption, with total value locked exceeding $556 million and cumulative trading volume surpassing $8.7 billion. The growth highlights increasing interest in bringing real-world assets on-chain, particularly among users seeking global market access with fewer operational hurdles.
In addition to equities, the platform also offers tokenized precious metals ETFs, including gold and silver products, allowing users to manage multiple asset classes within a single crypto wallet.
Crypto firms deepen links with traditional markets
Executives say the expansion reflects a broader shift toward modernizing how investors access global markets. Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith said the goal is to give users direct, self-custodied access to U.S. equities that is faster and more flexible than traditional banking channels.
For Ondo Finance, the European launch opens a new distribution channel as tokenization moves beyond experimentation into regulated financial products.
In another development, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev argues that the transition to tokenized stocks is an “almost inevitable” evolution for U.S. financial markets to prevent the systemic failures that lead to trading freezes.
