Quick Breakdown

  • KuCoin’s Visa-backed KuCard partners with Plaza Premium Lounge for crypto-powered airport lounge access.
  • Users get 20% off at 600+ lounges across 150 countries using digital assets.
  • Partnership expands real-world crypto utility, blending digital finance with luxury travel.

KuCoin’s Visa-backed debit card, KuCard, has entered a strategic partnership with Plaza Premium Lounge, the world’s largest independent airport lounge network, marking a new phase of crypto integration into global travel.

KuCard integrates crypto payments with airport luxury access

The collaboration enables KuCard users to access Plaza Premium’s airport lounges worldwide, combining cryptocurrency payments with premium travel experiences for the first time in the company’s history.

The partnership allows KuCard holders to enjoy a 20% discount at over 600 lounges across 150 countries, expanding the utility of digital assets beyond online trading. Plaza Premium, which serves more than 24 million passengers annually, is known for pioneering independent airport lounges that emphasize comfort, accessibility, and personalized service. The integration introduces crypto-enabled convenience to airport hospitality bridging the gap between digital finance and luxury travel.

Crypto meets real-world spending flexibility

Launched in 2023, KuCard functions as a Visa-enabled debit card that converts cryptocurrencies into fiat currency in real time during transactions. Compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay, the card allows users to spend crypto directly with global merchants without manual conversion. This design addresses key pain points in digital asset usage such as liquidity, volatility, and transaction complexity.

According to Axl Zhong, Lead of KuCard, the alliance with Plaza Premium Lounge “represents a major step in merging cryptocurrency with traditional industries,” underscoring KuCard’s mission to promote secure, inclusive, and interoperable crypto adoption across financial and lifestyle sectors.

The move highlights KuCoin’s push to embed blockchain-based payment systems into everyday experiences. With airport travel now part of its ecosystem, KuCard continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between crypto and real-world financial systems, reinforcing the potential of digital assets to power seamless, global transactions.

Alongside the partnership, KuCoin has achieved the ISO 27701:2025 certification, further reinforcing its commitment to data protection and privacy for over 40 million global users. The new certification builds upon KuCoin’s existing ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II accreditations, solidifying its standing as one of the most security-conscious exchanges in the crypto sector.
