Reddit, a social network, has joined its counterparts in participating in blockchain-based collectibles. In the case of Reddit, it is currently airdropping Polygon-based “collective avatars” from four collections to its users.
The sharing formula is determined by users’ level of activity on the social media platform.
Some lucky Reddit users were notified of the opportunity to choose avatars from four collections, which are “The Singularity,” “Aww Friends,” “Drip Squad,” and “Meme Team.”
These avatars are based on Polygon and can be sold on OpenSea. The selection criteria depend on the level of user activity on Reddit. When a user selects an avatar from any of the collections, it is minted.
These avatars can be traded on OpenSea, with Drip Squad having a higher value than other collections. The collectibles can be used on different websites, including Reddit, and like the average NFT, ownership is transferable.
Holders of these NFTs can keep them in Vault, Reddit’s wallet, and exchange them on Opensea.
Some artists were chosen to create separate collections for the social network, with prices ranging from $9.99 to $99.99, depending on the artist.
