Bitcoin dropped below $63,000 on Friday after renewed military action in the Middle East and fresh political uncertainty in the United States pushed investors away from risk assets.
The decline came as the US launched another round of strikes against Iran, while President Donald Trump’s latest speech on election security added to market uncertainty. US stock futures also moved lower as investors reacted to the developments.

Why did Bitcoin fall?
The latest sell-off followed confirmation from the US Central Command that American forces carried out another wave of strikes on Iranian military targets. The attacks reportedly hit coastal surveillance systems, air defense positions, military logistics facilities, and maritime infrastructure.
Local reports also claimed key transport infrastructure near Bandar Abbas, including bridges and a railway station linked to the Shahid Rajaei port, was damaged during the operation.
Iran responded by launching retaliatory strikes across parts of the Gulf region, including Qatar, where initial reports indicated attacks near the US Al Udeid Air Base. Military activity was also reported in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq.
The growing conflict drove investors toward safer assets. The US Dollar Index (DXY) climbed to 100.79, while oil prices rose to about $80 per barrel, increasing pressure on cryptocurrencies and other risk assets.

US political uncertainty adds pressure
Market sentiment weakened further after President Donald Trump delivered a White House address focused on election security ahead of the US midterm elections.
Trump accused China of interfering in the 2020 US election, citing declassified intelligence that he claimed showed a large-scale compromise of US voter data. He also urged lawmakers to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require voter identification and proof of citizenship.
The speech sparked renewed political debate, with several Democratic lawmakers rejecting the claims and criticizing the president for focusing on past election issues instead of economic priorities.
Can Bitcoin recover from here?
Despite the latest decline, some market participants remain optimistic about Bitcoin’s longer-term outlook.
BlackRock CEO Larry Fink recently said Bitcoin has remained relatively stable around current price levels despite ongoing geopolitical tensions. He also maintained a bullish outlook for the cryptocurrency market over the next 12 months.
For now, traders are closely watching developments in the Middle East and US politics, as both remain key drivers of short-term volatility across crypto and global financial markets.
