Crypto payments move into global festival culture
Under the deal, KuCoin will integrate crypto exchange and payment solutions into Tomorrowland Winter, scheduled for March 21–28, 2026, in Alpe d’Huez, France, and Tomorrowland Belgium, which will take place over two weekends in July 2026 in Boom, Belgium. The collaboration is expected to continue through the 2027 and 2028 editions of both festivals.
Both parties framed the partnership as an effort to merge culture and financial technology, introducing digital assets to a broader, non-crypto-native audience. Tomorrowland, known for its global community spanning more than 200 countries, has increasingly emphasized themes of connection and innovation, aligning with KuCoin’s push for wider crypto adoption.
KuCoin targets mainstream adoption through music events
KuCoin said the partnership allows it to showcase crypto as a practical, real-world payment and value-transfer tool rather than a purely speculative asset. The exchange, founded in 2017, currently serves more than 40 million users across 200+ countries and regions, offering access to over 1,000 digital assets.
Tomorrowland, founded by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, has evolved from a single music festival into a global entertainment brand spanning festivals, music, digital experiences, and storytelling under the WEAREONE.world group.
To further underline its push into everyday crypto payments, KuCoin recently expanded real-world utility through a separate partnership with Doggy.Cards, allowing users to purchase gift cards from more than 300 global brands using cryptocurrency.
