OKX Ventures Backs Compute Labs in $3 Million Pre-Seed Funding Round to Develop Tokenized GPU Market

OKX Ventures has announced its participation in a pre-seed investment round for Compute Labs, an innovative startup specializing in tokenized real-world assets (RWA). The announcement was made through a press release on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Compute Labs is spearheading the transformation of enterprise-grade GPUs into accessible investment opportunities using blockchain technology. Their GPU Restaking solution revolutionizes the computing market by granting customers access to computing revenue. This approach democratizes investment in high-end computing assets and opens the doors for a broader audience to participate in the computing economy, as emphasized in the press release.

According to the announcement, OKX Ventures’ participation in this pre-seed investment round reaffirms their ongoing interest and confidence in the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, and computing infrastructure. The investment firm claimed that Compute Labs is positioned strategically to establish a solid financial ecosystem for blockchain computing and the AI sector.

In a separate press release, ComputeLabs revealed that they secured $3 million in pre-seed funding. The funding round was led by Protocol Labs, with additional participation from CMS, Blockchain Coinvestors, MH Ventures, P2 Ventures, Amber Group, ArkStream Capital, HashKey Capital, Cogitent Ventures, Ambush, Mozaik Capital, Oak Grove Ventures, Optic Capital, and Builder Capital.

Additionally, notable angel investors, such as Sandeep Nailwal from Polygon, Illia Polosukhin from Near Protocol, and Austin Federal from Solana Foundation, contributed to the round.

Meanwhile, this development is the latest in OKX Ventures’ recent moves to diversify its portfolio through strategic investments in various projects. In May, the investment firm took the lead in investing in Blade of God X, a next-generation action RPG developed by Void Labs. Tnise, the Founder of the Blade God X project, expressed excitement and appreciation for OKX Ventures’ support, highlighting the positive impact it will have on their vision of using gaming as a medium for user interaction with the digital world.
