Israel-based fast-charging battery company, StoreDot, has entered into a partnership with Circulor, a UK-based startup that uses blockchain technology to map supply chains for environmentally friendly and sustainable production.
The aim of this partnership is to establish ethical and responsible sourcing by tracking the origin and CO2 emissions of raw materials used in battery cell production.
Circulor’s traceability technology is being put to use by StoreDot to monitor the manufacture of upstream battery materials and the associated carbon emissions.
This will result in increased transparency for StoreDot, and make it possible for the company to provide information to electric vehicle (EV) original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and regulators looking for details on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
In addition to focusing on sustainability, StoreDot, and Circulor are also collaborating to create transparent battery supply chains that will provide global automakers with complete traceability and help them comply with legal standards.
The CEO of StoreDot, Dr. Doron Myersdorf, emphasized the company’s focus on the environment, society, and government in its XFC solution and is pleased to form this partnership with Circulor due to its industry-leading supply chain traceability capabilities.
Dr. Myersdorf noted the importance of providing complete transparency on CO2 emissions and materials used in the fast charging 100in5 battery cells to automotive OEM clients and investors.
Myersdorf stated:
