1inch Network, a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator, has officially unveiled the 1inch Hardware Wallet, a proprietary hardware wallet.
The 1inch hardware wallet is fully air-gapped, which means that it doesn’t have a direct connection to the internet and doesn’t need a wired connection to offer the highest level of protection. The hardware wallet has no buttons, as all information is sent through QR codes or NFC.
In 1inch’s view, this resolves the issue of a single device supporting only one special seed phrase. The requirement for several seed phrases comes from the fact that if this one seed phrase is compromised, all existing wallets would likewise be at risk.
According to 1inch, the 1inch Hardware Wallet offers the safest method for securely storing users’ private keys offline, straightforwardly, and in an open-source way. It is now in its final stages of development and is anticipated to go on sale later this year.
Users can benefit from the transparent transaction signing, which 1inch claimed is an improvement over the blind signing provided by some other devices. Full transaction parsing and call data offline analysis are carried out to stop hacker attacks and money theft.
According to 1inch, the device will quickly notify the user if a transaction they are signing gets compromised on the web or in the mobile app.
The hardware wallet has an E-Ink grayscale touch display that measures 2.7 inches in size, around the size of a bank card. The Gorilla Glass 6 surface and stainless-steel frame of the waterproof crypto wallet are resistant to scratches.
The Li-Po battery is designed to last approximately two weeks, and the device supports wireless charging. Additionally, the hardware wallet comes in five colors: hex, graphite, sierra blue, silver, and alpine green.
Since the company intends to move forward with development and security improvements soon, 1inch did not specify when the company will begin selling the 1inch Hardware Wallet.
