Ondo Joins Broadridge to Add Voting Rights to Tokenized Stocks

Ondo Finance has partnered with Broadridge Financial Solutions to introduce voting capabilities for holders of tokenized stocks and ETFs, marking a step toward aligning blockchain-based assets with traditional market standards.

Tokenized stocks are blockchain-based versions of traditional shares that represent ownership in real company stocks. They allow 24/7 trading, instant settlement, and fractional investing, making stocks more accessible and efficient. These tokens are usually backed 1:1 by real shares or track their price. Main benefits are lower costs, better access, and DeFi use. Key risks include regulation issues, reliance on custodians, and crypto market volatility.

Token Holders Gain Governance Access

The integration allows investors holding Ondo’s tokenized equities to submit voting preferences tied to the underlying shares. Through Broadridge’s infrastructure, users will also gain access to key investor materials, including prospectuses, regulatory filings, and corporate disclosures.

Voting input will be proportionate to token ownership, with Ondo mapping user preferences to the corresponding equities. Broadridge will then aggregate these preferences alongside votes from traditional shareholders, bridging participation between onchain and offchain markets.

The feature will apply to more than 250 tokenized stocks and ETFs available on Ondo’s platform. These assets trade across multiple blockchain networks, offering continuous market access while now extending governance participation typically reserved for conventional equity holders.

Bridging Traditional Finance and Blockchain

The move reflects a broader push to standardize tokenized securities within existing financial frameworks. Broadridge, which processes over $15 trillion in securities transactions daily, provides the communication and voting infrastructure used by thousands of public companies globally.

By integrating this system, Ondo aims to close a major gap in tokenized equity markets and investor governance. The addition of voting rights brings tokenized assets closer to parity with traditional shares while preserving blockchain advantages such as 24/7 trading and broader accessibility. Ondo currently holds a dominant position in the tokenized equities sector, accounting for a significant share of the market and managing over $800 million in total value locked across its offerings.

Meanwhile, Ondo Finance has rolled out on-chain access to shares of BitGo just hours after the crypto custodian made its public market debut, marking a rare same-day bridge between Wall Street and blockchain markets.
