Bitcoin mining hashrate marketplace NiceHash is set to host a two-day conference in Maribor, Slovenia, on November 8 to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.
The event, known as NiceHashX and dubbed the “Bitcoin Conference on the Sunny Side of the Alps,” will bring together prominent industry figures to discuss issues like European Bitcoin adoption, regulation, mining, and the future of exchange platforms. Some of the key speakers include Bitcoin maximalist Saifedean Ammous, author of The Bitcoin Standard; BTC Prague conference CEO Martin Kuchař; and Bitcoin FilmFest Co-Founder Pierre Corbin.
Vladimir Hozjan, CEO of NiceHash, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “With 10 years of experience in this industry, we have witnessed phenomenal growth in the interest of using Bitcoin, here in Maribor and around the country. Join us as we celebrate, and witness Bitcoin in its purest form, used by everyday people, alongside some of the brightest speakers in the industry.”

NiceHashX stated it is not only celebrating a decade of operations but also highlighting Slovenia as a key European crypto destination. “We are delighted to welcome the world to discover how Slovenia is leading the way in European Bitcoin adoption,” Hozjan stated.
The country reportedly has the second-highest number of blockchain startups after Switzerland, and over 1,000 businesses are already accepting BTC as payment. Notably, leading EU crypto exchange Bitstamp recently obtained a regulatory license from the country’s Securities Market Agency.
Additionally, NiceHash will showcase its BTC payment solution, which claims to be the world’s first automated Lightning Network payout.
NiceHash began as a university project by two Slovenian students, Marko Kobal and Matjaž Škorjanc. In the past 10 years, which includes a troubled history with one of its founders, it has grown to serve 2.5 million users, including 250,000 active miners.
