Its Dogs Mini App on Telegram has attracted over 53 million users, and 42.2 million of them are eligible for the token airdrop, making it the “biggest meme TGE in cryptocurrency history,” according to a post by the TON community on Telegram.

The DOGS token airdrop, which began around August 31, has distributed over 40 billion tokens to more than 2.5 million users. This distribution is part of a larger plan to circulate a total of 550 billion DOGS tokens. The airdrop has significantly engaged the community, with many users receiving additional tokens based on their platform activity. Over 17 million users have reportedly claimed their DOGS tokens.
Following the success of DOGS launch, the TON community is gearing up for even more significant events. The upcoming Hamster Kombat and Catizen airdrops, which are expected to take place this month, are anticipated to have an even greater impact. The community believes these airdrops could potentially introduce tens or even hundreds of millions of new users to the blockchain ecosystem.
A week after reaching 300 million players in August, the Telegram-based web3 game Hamster Kombat released more details about how players can qualify for its much-awaited airdrop. The airdrop is being touted as the “largest in crypto history.” However, an official date for the event has not yet been announced.

While the number of DOGS token holders is impressive for a memecoin, it’s worth noting that it still falls short of leading cryptocurrencies. For instance, Ether (ETH) boasts over 273 million unique addresses, according to Ycharts data.
DOGS’ token went to 97% low in 2026
As of August 29, 2026, DOGS is trading around $0.00004, according to CoinGecko, with a market capitalization of roughly $20 million. The token is more than 97% below its August 2024 all-time high of $0.001633.
DOGS managed to achieve extraordinary distribution and user participation while its token value subsequently declined sharply. It shows that user count and token performance are not the same thing. A project can attract millions of users through an airdrop without converting those users into long-term holders, active traders or paying customers.
The project has also continued experimenting with ways to keep the community engaged. After the airdrop, users were given options that included burning the remaining tokens, donating them to charity or adding them to the project’s treasury.
DOGS also introduced collectible and NFT-style features within its ecosystem. In May 2026, the DOGS App promoted limited Star Wars-inspired NFT attributes, with unsold items scheduled to be burned. These initiatives point to an attempt to give DOGS an identity beyond being a one-time airdrop.
