Polyhedra Network has announced the launch of Expander, an open-source zk-proof system that claims to be the fastest available globally.
Zero-knowledge (zK) systems are among the numerous scaling solutions available for blockchain networks especially Ethereum. They stand out from other solutions because they use mathematical processes to verify transactions. Expander is touted to represent a new era of this technology.

The developers claimed that it combines classical interactive proofs with advanced polynomial commitment schemes to ensure the accuracy of transactions and consensus verification, yet it is faster and deployable on different kinds of devices and infrastructures, including mobile phones. They noted that the ‘proof’ generated is accurate and can’t be changed once created.
According to the team, Expander combines Polyhedra’s Libra paper with several polynomial commitment schemes, including native protocols like Orion and bi-variate KZG and mainstream schemes like KZG, FRI, and RAW (tar.gz + sha256). This allows it to generate proofs nearly two times faster than alternatives while enhancing the security and efficiency of the zk-proof process.

the Polyhedra’s team stated in its announcement in a social media post on May 2.
The team also noted that they plan to open-source the zk-brid technology in the coming days and have encouraged interested developers to get in touch with them.
Notably, Expander’s launch follows Polyhedra’s recent partnership with Google Cloud. As a result of the partnership, Polyhedra’s zk-systems will be global developers through Zero-Knowledge as a Service (ZK-as-a-service) provided by Google Cloud. The developers would generate zero-knowledge proofs directly on Google Cloud infrastructure via its cloud-based Proof Cloud service. This is expected to improve development efficiency further and expand the applications of zero-knowledge technology.
