Kroger, Popular Grocery Chain In The US Accepts Bitcoin Cash

Kroger, Popular Grocery Chain In The US Accepts Bitcoin Cash

Last updated on April 14th, 2026 at 02:20 pm

Recently, more companies have seen the need to accept popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum.

On November 5, Kroger, a grocery chain, stated that it has started accepting Bitcoin Cash in its stores. This means that shoppers can pay for their purchases with BCH in any Kroger Store scattered all over the US, from Baker’s, through City Market, and down to Fred Meyer. The payment system is also available for online shoppers that patronize Kroger.

A major reason for this development is because many shoppers have requested that the chain accept different cashless payment formats, and cryptocurrency is one of them.

The CEO of Kroger, Rodney McMullen, stated this in an announcement,

“Throughout the pandemic, cashless payments have flourished, and we see cryptocurrency as a natural progression from the trend to deal less with physical money.”

This is not the first cryptocurrency that Kroger has been linked with, as it started accepting Bitcoin in 2020.
