Pump.fun Unlocks 57.3B PUMP Tokens as Team and Investor Vesting Begins

Pump.fun has distributed 57.279 billion PUMP tokens to team members and investors after the project’s one-year lockup period expired, marking the start of a three-year vesting schedule.

On-chain data shared by analyst Yu Jin and reported by EmberCN showed the tokens, worth about $86.49 million at the time of the transfers, were sent to 121 wallets on July 15. While the movement makes the tokens transferable, it does not indicate that holders have sold or plan to sell them. The distribution is one of the first major releases of previously locked PUMP tokens since the project’s token launch.

57.3B PUMP moved to 121 wallets after the lockup ends

According to on-chain tracking, one wallet released 52.039 billion PUMP tokens valued at about $78.58 million, while another transferred 5.24 billion tokens worth roughly $7.91 million. Together, the transfers totalled 57.279 billion PUMP, which was then distributed across 121 wallets.

The released tokens account for around 14% of PUMP’s circulating supply of approximately 400 billion tokens.

CoinGecko data showed PUMP trading near $0.0016 following the transfers. Despite the unlock, the token remained up by double digits over the previous 24 hours, suggesting the market did not react with immediate heavy selling.

What does the three-year vesting period mean?

The unlock follows the token allocation plan introduced during Pump.fun’s token sale, where 20% of the total supply was reserved for the team and 13% for early investors.

With the one-year cliff now completed, those allocations have entered a three-year vesting period. That means eligible tokens can be released over time rather than all at once. Although the tokens are now transferable, recipients can choose to hold, move or sell them. As a result, the unlock itself does not confirm that the newly available supply has entered the market.

Will the unlock increase selling pressure?

The transfers came after market watchers closely followed reports of an expected PUMP unlock. Earlier unlock schedules pointed to about 82.5 billion tokens becoming eligible for release, but the first on-chain distribution totalled 57.279 billion tokens. The difference shows that unlock schedules show when tokens become available, while blockchain data records when tokens are actually moved.

The release also comes as PUMP continues to record strong trading activity, with more than $100 million in 24-hour trading volume and a market capitalization of about $650 million, according to CoinGecko.

In February, Pump.fun transferred 11.2 billion PUMP tokens, valued at approximately $21.22 million, to the Kraken exchange. This transaction represents roughly 1.12% of the total PUMP supply and originated from a wallet closely linked to the Pump core treasury.
