Bitget Secures Argentina VASP Registration to Deepen Latin America Expansion

Bitget has secured registration as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in Argentina, marking another step in its expansion across Latin America.

The approval, granted under the country’s Virtual Asset Service Provider registry managed by the National Securities Commission (CNV), allows the company to operate within Argentina’s existing regulatory framework for digital asset businesses.

The registration comes as Argentina continues to emerge as one of the region’s fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets, driven by rising demand for alternative financial services and broader access to global digital assets.

Argentina’s crypto market continues to grow

Bitget’s approval arrives at a time when cryptocurrency use is accelerating across Argentina. According to data cited by the exchange, nearly 20% of the country’s population now owns or uses digital assets, while more than 15,000 businesses accept crypto payments.

The growing adoption shows increasing interest in cryptocurrencies for everyday transactions and as an alternative financial tool. User activity has continued to expand as digital assets become more integrated into the country’s payment ecosystem.

The latest regulatory approval positions Bitget to participate more directly in one of Latin America’s most active crypto markets.

How does this registration strengthen regulatory compliance?

The VASP registration places Bitget under Argentina’s current framework for virtual asset service providers and supports compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) requirements.

As governments across the region develop clearer rules for digital assets, exchanges are increasingly seeking licenses and registrations that align their operations with local regulations. For Bitget, the approval provides a legal pathway to expand its services while meeting the country’s compliance expectations.

Meanwhile, Bitget officially rolled out its crypto-powered Bitget Card across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, marking a significant push toward making digital assets usable in everyday life.

Bitget targets long-term growth in Latin America

Bitget Chief Executive Officer Gracy Chen said regulatory compliance has become increasingly important as crypto rules mature across Latin America. She described Argentina as a key market in the region’s digital asset landscape. She said the company is committed to building its presence through long-term investment and alignment with local regulations.

Just recently, RedotPay also secured VASP registration in Mexico, marking another step in the company’s effort to expand regulated stablecoin payment services across Latin America.

The Argentina registration follows recent regulatory progress for Bitget in markets including Mexico. As crypto adoption continues to rise across the region, the exchange is focusing on jurisdictions where supportive regulation and growing user demand are developing side by side.
