Sumsub has introduced a new Travel Rule SDK designed to simplify crypto compliance for businesses while enhancing user retention.
The verification platform’s latest tool integrates directly into crypto, fintech, and iGaming apps, helping firms automate regulatory checks without compromising user experience.
The SDK addresses growing global enforcement of the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) Travel Rule, also known as Regulation 16, which mandates that virtual asset service providers (VASPs) collect and transmit sender and recipient information during crypto transactions. Despite increasing adoption, many platforms struggle with inconsistent jurisdictional requirements and the user friction involved in collecting this data.
Sumsub’s SDK is designed to overcome these challenges with minimal engineering effort. It offers customizable workflows, automatic jurisdiction detection, and country-specific compliance rules. It also enables real-time data collection and transaction updates for deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, all within the app’s interface.
One of the key outcomes, according to Sumsub, is a 35% reduction in user drop-offs during the transaction process, a major concern for companies trying to maintain conversion rates amid tightening regulations. The SDK also connects to a global Travel Rule ecosystem of over 1,700 VASPs, offering secure communication, VASP attribution, and unhosted wallet verification.
Andrew Novoselsky, Sumsub’s Chief Product Officer, stated that the tool eliminates the need for custom infrastructure while managing complex regulatory obligations.
“Our SDK keeps compliance seamless and user-friendly, allowing crypto businesses to focus on growth rather than regulation,”
he noted.
Sumsub supports a wide range of identity and compliance services beyond Travel Rule, including KYC, KYB, AML screening, and transaction monitoring. CRE8 is among the latest firms to integrate Sumsub’s services as it scales regulated offerings, citing the platform’s ability to ensure both compliance and a smooth user experience.
