The Shiba Inu (SHIB) community is eagerly anticipating a significant update scheduled for Monday, according to Lucie, the project’s marketing lead.
This upcoming “strategic upgrade” will enhance Shiboshis—Ethereum-based NFTs within the Shiba Inu ecosystem—on Shibarium, SHIB’s layer-2 blockchain, sparking optimism and speculation within the crypto industry.
In an October 28 announcement on X, Lucie described the update as a set of “big things” for Shiboshis on Shibarium, aimed at boosting their utility through exclusive events, rewards, and a focused role for Shiboshis as a core part of the SHIB ecosystem.

These upgrades will broaden Shiboshis’ functionality within the SHIB network, offering new features, unique events, and additional incentives. The SHIB team also plans to address gas fees and optimize bridging options, enhancing accessibility and cost-effectiveness.
Lucie noted that SHIB users are already sharing bridging strategies that reduce transaction fees to as low as $2, contributing to the ecosystem’s affordability.
These recent advancements in the Shiba Inu ecosystem have led to speculations of a bullish outlook for its native token, SHIB’s long-term potential. ShibaSwap, the decentralized exchange (DEX) associated with the ecosystem, successfully migrated to the Shibarium blockchain. This transition is expected to enhance functionalities for DEX and decentralized applications (DApps).
The integration marked a significant development in Shiba Inu’s ongoing expansion within the DeFi space. Notably, other components of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including $SHIB and $LEASH tokens, SHEboshis DN-404 tokens, SHIB The Metaverse, the ShibaSwap DEX, and the Shiba Eternity game, have also been integrated with the Shibarium.
SHIB is currently trading at $0.00001704, a 0.64% decrease in the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
