According to the seventh Crypto Awareness and Perception Survey by local exchange Paribu and FutureBright Group, 53% of traders in Turkiye use AI tools “often or always.” Among daily active traders, the figure rises to 87%.
The survey also found that 43% of active market participants would trust an AI assistant to manage their entire cryptocurrency portfolio. This growing use of AI comes as high inflation in Turkiye pushes citizens toward digital currencies to protect their purchasing power.
How AI trading could increase market volatility
When nearly nine out of ten daily traders use AI, their trading decisions could start affecting the market in similar ways. Since these tools often use similar historical data and technical indicators, they may produce similar buy and sell signals.
X user Kalmaz highlighted this risk, explaining that although algorithms can make trading more efficient, they can also encourage traders to follow the same market trends. Kalmaz questioned whether widespread AI adoption would help individual traders succeed or increase the risk of sudden market crashes.
Finansal Piyasalarda Algoritma Egemenliği 🤖📊
Paribu’nun 2026 araştırmasına göre; Türkiye’de her gün kripto işlemi yapanların %87’si süreçlerine yapay zekayı entegre etmiş durumda.
Karar alma mekanizmalarının insani sezgilerden ve rasyonel analizden ziyade algoritmalara devredilmesi iki yönlü bir sonuç doğurur: Verimlilik artışı ve aynı sinyallere aynı tepkiyi veren kolektif algoritmik sürü psikolojisi.
Sizce yapay zekanın piyasalarda bu denli baskın hale gelmesi bireysel başarıyı mı artırır, yoksa sistemik ani çöküş risklerini mi?

This concern relates to how markets respond when many traders make the same decisions. For example, thousands of automated accounts could place stop-loss orders at the same price because they received similar AI recommendations.
If the price falls to that level, the bots could sell their holdings at the same time. This could overwhelm available buyers, push prices down further, and trigger a wave of liquidations. In extreme cases, the resulting pressure could cause millions of dollars in losses within seconds.

AI trading does not guarantee profits
Despite the growing use of AI, automated trading tools do not guarantee that investors will make money. Many consumer AI models can produce false information, rely on outdated data, or fail to analyze real-time order book liquidity accurately.
Another commenter, @Kenan said that most cryptocurrency users still lose money despite having access to these tools.

Another user, Vedat, criticized the trend of crypto exchanges promoting AI-powered trading features even with continued losses among retail traders. He argued that platforms use these integrations to push unreliable products onto their customers.

This criticism points to a potential conflict of interest in the retail trading industry. Cryptocurrency exchanges earn revenue from transaction fees, so they can benefit when customers trade more frequently, regardless of whether those trades generate profits.
By offering easy-to-use AI assistants that regularly suggest new trades, exchanges could encourage users to buy and sell more often and make frequent changes to their portfolios. This can increase trading volumes and generate more fees for the platforms, even when individual investors lose money.
Meanwhile, Turkey faced a financial crisis that began in September 2026, when several major investment funds failed to process investor withdrawals during a sharp market sell-off. The SPK has since suspended trading and ordered the liquidation of 131 investment funds managed by seven asset management companies.
