Brinc, Ripple Launch Hong Kong Accelerator to Back XRPL-Based Crypto Startups

Brinc has partnered with Ripple to launch a new accelerator in Hong Kong to help early-stage crypto and fintech startups build on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Announced on July 3, the Hong Kong Financial Innovation Programme (HFIP) is a 12-week accelerator focused on startups developing blockchain-based financial services. The programme is open to companies from pre-seed to Series A and is designed to support projects building practical solutions for digital finance across Asia.

What Startups is the programme looking for?

The accelerator is targeting founders working on blockchain-powered financial infrastructure, with a focus on cross-border payments, foreign exchange (FX), trade finance, credit solutions, stablecoins, tokenization, settlement networks, and AI-powered payment systems.

Participants will build on the XRP Ledger, Ripple’s blockchain network known for fast transaction speeds, low fees, and support for payment and settlement applications. The programme aims to help startups develop products that can be used in real-world financial services across Hong Kong and other Asian markets.

Applications for the Hong Kong Financial Innovation Programme are now open through Brinc’s official platform, with founders building eligible blockchain and fintech solutions invited to apply.

How will Ripple and Brinc support founders?

Selected startups will receive mentorship from experts in finance, blockchain, and business development throughout the 12-week programme.

Founders will also gain access to potential investors, corporate partners, and financial institutions that could help expand their businesses. In addition, eligible startups can apply for non-dilutive grant funding, allowing them to develop their products without giving up equity.

Brinc said the programme is designed to help startups move beyond building technology by creating opportunities for commercial partnerships and market adoption.

Why is Hong Kong important for XRPL innovation?

Hong Kong is progressing with the regulated introduction of stablecoins following the implementation of a new licensing regime for fiat-referenced issuers. The government expects the first Hong Kong dollar‑referenced stablecoins to launch as early as mid‑2026 after two licences were granted earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, David Schwartz, Ripple’s chief technology officer XRPL proposed a new transaction reservation system aimed at reducing front-running and sandwich attacks on XRPL decentralized exchange (DEX) and automated market maker (AMM).
