Bitget Expands Crypto CFD Trading With Built-in Copy Trading and Tiered Margin System

Bitget has introduced a major upgrade to its Contracts for Difference (CFD) trading platform, adding built-in copy trading and a new tiered margin system to improve the experience for traders using leveraged products.

The update brings copy trading directly into the CFD trading interface, allowing users to discover and follow experienced traders without leaving the trading screen. It also introduces an exposure-based margin model that adjusts margin requirements based on the size of a trader’s overall positions.

The new features are available across supported CFD markets, including cryptocurrencies, foreign exchange, commodities, precious metals and stock indices.

Bitget brings copy trading into the CFD interface

With the latest update, Bitget has integrated copy trading into every supported CFD market page. Instead of moving to a separate section of the platform, traders can now access a Popular Traders panel while viewing charts and placing trades.

Each trader profile displays key performance data, including 30-day returns and copier activity, helping users compare traders before deciding who to follow. If there are no featured traders for a specific market, users are redirected to Bitget’s broader copy trading leaderboard.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said traders increasingly want a simpler way to access market information, evaluate experienced traders and manage positions without switching between different sections of the platform.

What changes for users managing copied trades?

Bitget has also added a dedicated Copied Positions tab within the CFD interface. The feature separates copied trades from manually opened positions, making it easier for users to track their portfolios.

Positions are grouped according to the trader being followed and can be sorted by unrealized profit or loss, as well as position value. The update is designed to give users a clearer view of how copied trades are performing alongside their own positions.

Meanwhile, Bitget Wallet has surpassed 100 million users worldwide, a change in how people use crypto wallets as payments overtake trading activity for the first time. The company said a growing number of users now rely on the wallet to receive money, make purchases, and transfer funds with stablecoins instead of using it mainly for crypto trading.

New margin model adjusts with trading exposure

Alongside the interface changes, Bitget has introduced a tiered margin system based on total trading exposure instead of applying a single margin requirement across all positions.

Under the new model, larger positions move into higher margin tiers as exposure increases. The platform also applies predefined margin levels during the 30-minute periods before and after market opening and closing times, when price swings are typically higher.

According to Bitget, the changes are intended to improve capital management while giving traders greater transparency over margin requirements and risk when trading leveraged CFD products.
