SafePal Expands Stablecoin Payments With DCSPay Integration in Vietnam, Philippines, and Brazil

Last updated on July 21st, 2026 at 09:36 am

SafePal has expanded the real-world use of stablecoins by integrating DCSPay into its mobile wallet, allowing users to pay merchants directly with USDT and USDC in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil.

The new feature lets users scan a merchant’s QR code through the SafePal app and complete payments using their stablecoin balances. The integration is aimed at making crypto payments faster and easier while increasing the everyday use of digital assets in key emerging markets.

SafePal, a non-custodial crypto wallet backed by Animoca Brands, Binance, and Superscrypt, said the feature is now available through its mobile application.

How does the new payment feature work?

The payment process is designed to let users only need to open the SafePal app, scan a supported merchant’s QR code, and confirm the payment using either USDT or USDC.

The feature removes the need to convert crypto into local currency before making purchases. Instead, users can spend stablecoins directly from their self-custody wallets while keeping full control of their assets.

The rollout currently covers Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil, three markets where stablecoins have become increasingly popular for remittances, savings, and everyday transactions.

Why were these markets chosen?

Southeast Asia and Latin America have recorded strong growth in crypto adoption over the past few years. Many users in these regions rely on stablecoins to protect savings from inflation and reduce the cost of cross-border transfers.

By enabling direct merchant payments, SafePal is targeting markets where digital dollar-backed assets already play an important role in daily financial activity.

The wallet supports more than 200 blockchain networks and serves over 30 million users worldwide, giving the new payment feature access to a broad crypto user base.

What does this mean for stablecoin adoption?

The DCSPay integration shows a push across the crypto industry to move stablecoins beyond trading and savings into everyday payments.

Recently, Nigerian fintech startup Daya raised $2.4 million in a pre-seed funding round to expand its stablecoin-powered payment infrastructure for businesses across Africa. Credible Finance also entered a partnership with NASDAQ-listed OwlTing Group to strengthen stablecoin-powered cross-border payments in Asia, opening new settlement routes into China and India.

Instead of treating USDT and USDC solely as digital assets held in wallets, the new feature allows them to function as payment tools at participating merchants. The launch also builds on SafePal’s efforts to connect decentralized finance with real-world payments, including previous support for crypto banking services and virtual card products in selected markets.
