Altura has announced plans to wind down its stablecoin yield vault after processing a sharp wave of redemption requests, emphasising growing pressure across the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector following recent stablecoin market instability.
Chief Executive Officer Ranveer Arora said the protocol handled more than $8.5 million in instant USDT withdrawals within 24 hours before deciding to close the vault in an orderly manner. According to Arora, the move was driven by continued withdrawal demand and weak market sentiment, with the team prioritizing the protection of user funds.
Dear Users,
Over the past 24 hours, we have experienced an unprecedented level of withdrawal requests and have successfully processed more than 8.5 million USDT in instant redemptions.
Given the sustained withdrawal demand and current market sentiment, we have made the…

Altura begins unwinding vault positions
The protocol has started closing positions tied to its stablecoin yield strategy and has informed counterparties and partners of the decision. The vault’s portfolio includes allocations across centralized exchanges, private credit opportunities, and tokenized real-world asset (RWA) investments.
Arora said some investments can be redeemed quickly, while others remain subject to standard settlement periods. As a result, user funds will be returned gradually as capital is recovered from underlying positions.
The company added that it is working with counterparties to push settlements where possible and will continue providing updates as additional liquidity becomes available.
MSUSD Depeg causes widespread market anxiety
The decision comes shortly after instability surrounding Main Street’s yield-bearing stablecoin, MSUSD, shook the market. The token lost its dollar peg after Accountable, its proof-of-solvency provider, ended its relationship with the project, citing concerns that Main Street could not meet its verification requirements.
The development caused concerns among investors and led to tighter liquidity conditions in related lending markets. Although Main Street maintained that its assets remained fully backed, confidence weakened as MSUSD traded significantly below its intended $1 value.
According to recent analysis, DeFi is moving further away from speculative farming cycles and toward structured yield systems built on lending demand, trading activity, and tokenized RWA. Industry activity shows capital concentrating in stablecoin-based lending markets, fee-generating exchanges, and automated yield vaults that prioritize sustainable cash flow over token emissions.
Does Altura deny having exposure to Main Street?
Altura said its vaults and lending products have no direct exposure to Main Street or MSUSD-related strategies. The protocol also stated that its HyperEVM lending vault, Alpha USDT Prime, and associated borrowing markets remain unaffected.
We recently became aware of the depeg event affecting Mainstreet (MSY).
As Altura, we have never had any exposure to Mainstreet or any of its underlying investment strategies.
Our HyperEVM lending vault (Alpha USDT Prime), the associated USDT/AVLT market, and borrowers…

Arora criticized what he described as misinformation and speculation circulating during the weekend, arguing that market rumors intensified withdrawal pressure despite the platform’s lack of exposure to the troubled stablecoin.
According to DeFiLlama data, Altura currently holds around $32.36 million in total value locked on Hyperliquid L1, down from a peak of roughly $39 million on HyperEVM. The protocol has not provided a completion date for the wind-down, with the redemption timeline dependent on the settlement terms of individual positions.
