Live equity pricing now on-chain
The feeds cover roughly $80 trillion in equities, allowing DeFi platforms to access real-time pricing during market hours. Previously, on-chain financial products relied on delayed or limited price feeds, which restricted the functionality of tokenized stocks.
The new infrastructure enables smart contracts to settle trades, manage collateral, and execute derivatives using accurate prices, improving the reliability and safety of on-chain equity products. Santiment notes that this upgrade helps tokenized stocks and ETFs behave more like their real-world counterparts, supporting applications such as on-chain lending, options, and structured products that require precise, up-to-date market information.
Strengthening the bridge between DeFi and traditional markets
Santiment highlights that Chainlink’s live equity feeds address a major hurdle for institutional adoption of tokenized financial products. By providing accurate, trusted pricing data, the platform strengthens the connection between traditional finance systems and blockchain networks.
While LINK’s price reaction may remain muted or volatile in the short term, the availability of real-time data positions the network for increased usage as tokenized equities grow in adoption. Santiment emphasizes that wider utilization of these feeds could boost demand for Chainlink’s services, reinforcing its role as a key infrastructure provider in the evolving DeFi ecosystem.
As blockchain platforms increasingly integrate real-world assets, Chainlink’s initiative demonstrates how reliable on-chain data can enable safer, more efficient tokenized finance, bridging the gap between Wall Street and decentralized networks.
Meanwhile, Chainlink unveiled a new market data product that could accelerate the migration of US equities onto blockchain-based platforms. The company announced that it is launching 24/5 US Equities Streams, a service designed to deliver continuous, high-quality price data for US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) beyond traditional market hours.
