Tech researcher spots unreleased feature
Crypto exchange Coinbase appears to be preparing the launch of its own prediction markets platform, according to new findings shared by well-known tech researcher Jane Manchun Wong. Wong, who often uncovers in-progress features by digging through public site code, posted screenshots on X hinting at the project.

Her screenshots show what looks like Coinbase’s upcoming prediction market interface, branded with the exchange’s logo and supported by Coinbase Financial Markets, the company’s derivatives arm through a partnership with regulated prediction market operator Kalshi.
Screenshots reveal early interface and market details
The captured images display a clean, prediction-style dashboard, a Coinbase-branded FAQ, and a guide explaining how the markets will work. The leaked material also suggests users will be able to participate using either USDC or US dollars.
The platform appears set to host event contracts across categories such as economics, sports, science, politics and technology, with indications that new markets will be rolled out frequently.
Coinbase previously signaled its interest in this direction, telling CNBC in July that prediction markets would become part of its long-term plan to build an “everything exchange.” The company formally partnered with Kalshi on November 13, with Coinbase serving as custodian for Kalshi’s USDC-based event contracts.
Part of a broader industry rush
Prediction markets have rapidly become one of crypto’s breakout trends this year, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket reporting surging user volumes. Major exchanges are now racing to capture the demand. Jupiter rolled out the beta version of its first-ever prediction market, marking a new step in its product lineup.
Crypto.com recently introduced its own prediction market product, which will eventually integrate with Trump Media. Gemini is also building a similar offering as part of a planned “super app” and has filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to become a designated contract market to support it.
