Soneium has partnered with LINE to integrate four successful mini-apps on-chain in the coming months, marking a major step toward expanding web3 adoption.
The collaboration aims to provide smoother, more scalable, and accessible blockchain interactions. In addition, the partnership will offer comprehensive support to LINE MINI App builders, including community building, strategic marketing, and intellectual property collaboration, thereby fostering an environment where innovation can thrive.
Reflecting on the significance of this integration, Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, described the partnership as a pivotal milestone in making blockchain technology more accessible. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would not only enhance user engagement but also drive adoption in areas that have previously posed challenges.
As one of Asia’s leading social and digital services platforms, LINE is already deeply embedded in users’ daily interactions. By bringing blockchain-powered applications to LINE, Soneium aims to break down adoption barriers while delivering the benefits of web3 without compromising ease of use. This seamless integration aligns with Soneium’s broader vision of simplifying blockchain technology for mainstream audiences.
The first four mini-apps set to launch as part of this initiative are Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil – Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob. Sleepagotchi LITE allows users to earn rewards without needing sleep. Farm Frens is a charming farming game by Amihan Entertainment aimed at bringing Web2 users into the crypto space, supported by over $10 million. Moonveil – Puffy Match utilizes zk-L2 and AI technology for fast-paced web3 gaming. Pocket Mob, developed by Sonzai Labs, is a social strategy RPG where players engage in Mafia-style battles to earn Respect points.
Similarly, Soneium has partnered with Solv Protocol to enable BTC staking on its network, announced on March 6. This collaboration allows SolvBTC holders to stake assets, earn rewards, and access cross-chain liquidity. SolvBTC is issued 1:1 against Bitcoin when users deposit BTC into Solv Protocol, facilitating participation in decentralized finance.
