BTCC to Host First Offline Crypto Event in Tokyo to Strengthen its Presence in Japanese Markets

Crypto exchange BTCC has announced that it will host its first offline crypto event in Tokyo, Japan, set for Friday, August 23, 2024.

According to a press release published on Monday, August 19, 2024, the firm noted that this event will allow invited participants to connect with others and discuss the latest insights and trends in foreign and Japanese crypto industries.

According to the exchange, the event will feature two speakers: Nikaido Sana and Trader Kanto, both of which are online crypto influencers and traders. They will share their insights and lead discussions on Bitcoin and the general crypto market outlook.

BTCC’s Head of Operations, “Alex”, pointed out that the event is the exchange’s first move in the Japanese market. He declared that the event’s goal is to expand the exchange’s Japanese customer base and strengthen the crypto community in the region.

Notably, BTCC has been active in the global crypto space, partaking in events such as the Red Eagle Foundation’s charity golf day with Frank Lampard and the Paris Blockchain Week. The exchange noted that the timing of this forthcoming event in Japan is key, as worldwide interest in cryptocurrencies is climbing, especially as former US President Donald Trump possibly plans to make the United States a “Bitcoin superpower” if re-elected.

Meanwhile, as the Japanese economy has been struggling with the decline in the price of its domestic currency, prominent firms in the region have to use cryptocurrencies to reduce the impact of this decline. Tokyo-based investment company Metaplanet is one such firm. In May, the company announced that it is transitioning to a Bitcoin-only reserve strategy following the rapid decline of the yen. Since then, the firm has embarked on an acquisition spree. The company recently announced that it had secured a $6.8 million loan to buy more Bitcoin.
