Bitpanda, an Austrian fintech company, has partnered with Visa to offer crypto trading and custody services to banks and fintech firms through Visa’s fintech partner connect programme.
The partnership will allow Visa’s partners to access Bitpanda’s investment infrastructure solutions, enabling them to provide their clients with swift access to trading and investment services for a range of assets, including cryptocurrency, stocks and ETFs, precious metals, and commodities.
Bitpanda’s infrastructure is designed as a modular system which allows its partners to select and implement specific features, such as savings plans, asset-to-asset swaps, crypto staking, fractionalized stocks, complete blockchain services, and more, with a single API integration.
Bitpanda operates a crypto trading platform with more than 20 million customers in Europe. The company has reportedly collaborated with the largest challenger bank in continental Europe, Neobank N26.
Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konard, CEO of Bitpanda Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Bitpanda’s SaaS solution offers financial institutions worldwide the necessary infrastructure for deploying the most scalable and secure means of building all relevant crypto use cases.
Visa’s Central Europe Head of Business Development, Ute König-Stemmler, welcomed Bitpanda to Visa’s Fintech Partner Connect Program. He noted that the partnership would aid banks in integrating an asset trading platform for various assets, including cryptocurrencies, into their banking applications.
Several banks and Fintech firms worldwide have started developing cryptocurrency use cases in response to rising customer demand. The Visa’s Fintech Partner Connect program enables participating partners to access digital-first, next-generation payment and banking platforms and solutions, allowing them to unlock novel opportunities in the financial industry.
Meanwhile, Gate Group, a prominent player in the cryptocurrency industry, announced its plans to introduce the Gate Debit card. The Card is powered by Visa, and it enables users to conveniently convert their cryptocurrency holdings into fiat currency.
