Quick Breakdown:
- XDC Network rolls out CCTP V2 to enable fast, secure cross-chain USDC transfers.
- Fast Transfer cuts settlement to under 30 seconds, backed by Circle’s Attestation Service.
- Hooks integration powers DeFi, NFTs, payments, and gaming apps with programmable cross-chain logic.
XDC Network has unveiled the second version of the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), aiming to establish a new benchmark for transferring USDC between blockchains. The upgrade introduces “Fast Transfer” and programmable “Hooks,” tools designed to boost capital efficiency and simplify the developer and user experience in multichain environments.
Fast Transfer Speeds for DeFi and Trading
At the core of CCTP V2 is Fast Transfer, which enables USDC to move across blockchains in under 30 seconds—dramatically reducing settlement times that often exceed 15 minutes. The process burns USDC on the source chain and mints it natively on the destination chain, verified instantly by Circle’s Attestation Service.
XDC has also integrated a Fast Transfer Allowance that temporarily backs burned tokens until final settlement is reached, ensuring security while maintaining near-instant liquidity. This feature is designed for high-frequency DeFi applications, trading desks, and payment platforms where every second counts.
USDC, issued by regulated affiliates of @Circle, is coming to XDC Network, alongside CCTP V2.
Here’s what it means

Programmability Through Hooks
CCTP V2 also introduces Hooks, a feature that allows developers to attach custom logic to transfers. With this, cross-chain transactions can automatically trigger lending, swaps, payments, or NFT-related actions once completed. The composability unlocks new opportunities for building decentralized apps that function seamlessly across blockchains.
As a permissionless protocol, CCTP V2 empowers developers to integrate native USDC into their platforms without relying on wrapped tokens or custodial bridges. This design minimizes trust assumptions and addresses long-standing concerns around fragmented liquidity in multichain ecosystems.
By rolling out CCTP V2, XDC Network positions itself at the centre of the push for cross-chain interoperability. With stablecoins now forming the backbone of crypto capital flows, the upgrade signals a strategic step to make USDC a universal settlement layer across DeFi, gaming, payments, and digital asset markets.
Meanwhile, Toyota Blockchain Lab has introduced its Mobility Orchestration Network (MON) prototype on the Avalanche blockchain. Designed to break down fragmentation in global mobility ecosystems, MON seeks to securely connect automakers, regulators, insurers, and service providers through a unified blockchain infrastructure.
