BitPay has added full support for the Solana blockchain, enabling payments with SOL and Solana-based stablecoins USDC and USDT across its platform.
The integration extends to the BitPay Wallet and merchant network, allowing global businesses to tap into one of the most active blockchain ecosystems without additional technical setup or the need to hold crypto.
The move targets a growing trend in digital payments, with stablecoins accounting for nearly 40% of BitPay’s total transaction volume in 2025. Solana’s low-fee, high-speed network is expected to accelerate that adoption, particularly for stablecoin transactions.
Solana is now live in the BitPay Wallet and for payments.

BitPay users can now buy, store, swap, send, and receive Solana assets alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies within its multichain wallet. Payments can be made to any BitPay merchant or used for gift cards, bill payments, and direct purchases from over 250 major brands. The platform also supports cashing out Solana assets directly to bank accounts, debit cards, or PayPal balances.
Merchants benefit from instant access to Solana’s active user base. Support for Solana-based payouts is planned for future updates, further broadening business use cases.
The 1916 Company, a global luxury watch and jewelry retailer, is among the first merchants to adopt Solana payments through BitPay. CEO John Shmerler highlighted Solana’s speed and cost efficiency, particularly when paired with stablecoins, as key advantages for both clients and business operations.
BitPay’s expansion into Solana underscores its ongoing push to strengthen stablecoin utility in everyday transactions. Since 2021, the company has positioned itself as a leader in crypto payment adoption, aiming to reduce transaction costs, eliminate chargeback fraud, and enable borderless payments for merchants worldwide. The Solana integration is now live, with immediate availability for users and businesses globally.
Notably, Solana wallet provider Phantom has acquired Solsniper, a fast-growing meme coin trading platform. The deal expands Phantom’s trading capabilities and deepens its reach into the thriving Solana meme coin ecosystem.
