Canadian digital asset investment firm 3iQ has partnered with Swiss-based Criptonite Asset Management to launch the 3iQ Criptonite Multi-Factor AMC, an Actively Managed Certificate tailored for qualified professional investors in Switzerland.
The launch underscores both firms’ commitment to expanding access to institutional-grade digital asset strategies in the European market.
Built on the quantitative foundation of 3iQ’s managed account platform QMAP, the new AMC is designed to track multi-day and short-term market trends in the crypto space. By leveraging advanced statistical models, the fund executes data-driven investment decisions. Importantly, it uses no leverage and settles all trades in cash, providing controlled market exposure with an emphasis on managing downside risk.
This rules-based strategy has demonstrated consistent performance through several years of active trading. For investors seeking structured access to the digital asset market without extreme volatility, the fund offers a compelling proposition.
According to Florian Rais, CEO of Criptonite AM, the product reflects a broader shift in the digital asset landscape, where experienced managers from traditional finance are bringing their expertise to crypto. Rather than investing purely in digital assets, Rais emphasized that these managers are “investing using crypto,” applying tested models to a new frontier of opportunity. This evolution allows professionals to exploit volatility and inefficiencies in the crypto markets to generate alpha.
Further reinforcing this direction, Matteo Dante Perruccio, Global Head of Corporate Strategy at 3iQ, described the collaboration as a strategic move to strengthen the firm’s European presence. He noted that the AMC aligns with 3iQ’s broader goal of delivering high-quality digital asset solutions to institutional investors.
In a parallel move to diversify offerings, 3iQ has also chosen Figment as the lead staking provider for its newly listed Solana Staking ETF (TSX: SOLQ), the first staking-focused ETF of its kind in North America. This product leverages Solana’s Proof-of-Stake architecture to deliver native yield as part of its investment strategy, marking another milestone in 3iQ’s innovation in crypto-focused financial instruments.
