Executives from several prominent U.S. crypto and financial companies are set to participate in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s upcoming roundtable to discuss crypto trading regulations.
Scheduled for April 11 at SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C., the event, titled “Between a Block and a Hard Place: Tailoring Regulation for Crypto Trading,” will be led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, who oversees the SEC’s newly formed Crypto Task Force, according to an official press release from the SEC.
The panel will feature notable figures, including Katherine Minarik, Chief Legal Officer at Uniswap Labs, Gregory Tusar, VP of Institutional Product at Coinbase, and Chelsea Pizzola, Associate General Counsel at Cumberland DRW. These companies have all faced scrutiny from the SEC, though their cases were ultimately dismissed during the Trump administration. Joining these crypto executives will be Austin Reid, Global Business Head at FalconX, and Richard Johnson, CEO of the securities tokenization platform Texture Capital.
In addition to the crypto industry representatives, the roundtable will feature Jon Herrick, Product Chief at the New York Stock Exchange, Christine Parlour from UC Berkeley, and key advocates such as Dave Lauer of We the Investors and Tyler Gellasch from the Healthy Markets Association. The diverse participants will discuss how the SEC should approach crypto oversight.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET, beginning with an open roundtable and a regulatory direction discussion. During this session, participants will weigh in on the SEC’s future regulatory actions in the digital assets space.
This session will be the second in the SEC’s five-part series, “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity.” The first roundtable, held on March 21, focused on the legal status of crypto assets and marked the debut event for the SEC’s Crypto Task Force. Building on that foundation, the April 11 session aims to explore further the regulatory challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving crypto market.
