Animecoin Foundation Set to Launch ANIME Token on Ethereum and Arbitrum Networks

This initiative comes nearly 10 months after the introduction of AnimeChain, a web3 network designed for anime fans. The foundation aims to foster a “community-driven” open anime universe with this new token.

Described as a “Culture Coin,” ANIME aims to unite the global anime fandom of over 1 billion people into a decentralized network. It is backed by the Arbitrum Foundation and NFT brand Azuki, with a total supply of 10 billion tokens. Of these, 7.69 billion will be initially circulated, with 50.5% allocated to the community. This includes 37.5% of the Azuki community as early supporters and 13% for community initiatives under AnimeDAO. Partner communities will receive a 2% allocation as well.

The Animecoin Foundation will allocate 24.44% of the token supply for grant programs in the anime industry, known as “Domain Expansion.” The Azuki team, contractors, and advisors will receive 15.62% of the supply, with a vesting schedule of 67% unlocking over three years and 33% after one year. Additionally, Azuki company will get 7.44% under the same terms. Community members will have fully unlocked tokens at launch. The foundation aims to establish the ANIME token as a transformative tool in the anime industry, fostering a community-owned network that benefits creators and fans. The token launch is highly anticipated, though an official release date is yet to be announced.
