South Korean Crypto Exchanges Upbit and Bithumb

South Korean crypto exchanges Upbit and Bithumb are set to list the native token MOVE of Movement, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, on December 9 at 9:00 PM KST.

MOVE will be tradable against Korean won, Bitcoin, and USDT on Upbit. Bithumb, on the other hand, will list MOVE only in the won market.

Notably, both exchanges noted that the listing time is subject to change based on the launch conditions. They promised to notify users of any adjustments to the schedule.

Upbit established a minimum sell price limit for MOVE at $0.33 USD (approximately 464.5 KRW), set 30% below the previous day’s lowest over-the-counter trading price. Additionally, the exchange will restrict buy orders for MOVE for approximately five minutes after trading begins. All orders, except limit orders, will be restricted for about an hour following the launch of MOVE trading.

Bithumb has yet to determine a base price for the token but has confirmed that it has received 33 deposit confirmations for the token. Similar to Upbit, Bithumb will restrict buy orders for MOVE during the first five minutes of trading. Selling orders will also be limited to a range of 10% below to 100% above the standard price during this period.

Movement is an Ethereum Layer 2 solution that supports MoveVM and EVM transactions, offering compatibility with Ethereum applications while enhancing stability and scalability. MOVE is the platform’s utility token, and it powers staking, delegation, governance, and gas fee payments within the ecosystem.

In addition to Upbit and Bithumb, Canadian crypto exchange Bitrue has also announced the listing of MOVE and the opening of trading for the MOVE/USDT spot pair. Deposits for MOVE are already open, with trading set to begin at 12:00 UTC on December 9, 2024. Withdrawals will be available from 12:00 UTC on December 10, 2024.
