Crypto.com is now licensed to offer the full range of its crypto services, including crypto-to-fiat exchanges and fiat wallets, to citizens in Ireland after receiving regulatory approval.
The exchange, in a recent announcement, noted that the Central Bank of Ireland has approved its application to operate as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in the country. Notably, the approval came after a thorough review of the exchange’s anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) capabilities.
“This approval from the Central Bank of Ireland is the latest testament to our commitment to compliance and responsible innovation,”
Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, said in the statement.
“We are excited to broaden our offering in Ireland, enabling consumers to engage with the most comprehensive crypto product offering.”
Crypto.com is a leading cryptocurrency platform trusted by over 100 million users worldwide, and its expansion to Ireland is the latest in its drive to expand its reach globally. It has obtained operational licenses from regulatory authorities in more than seven jurisdictions globally in the past year. Some of these jurisdictions include Dubai, Netherlands, Spain, and Singapore.
Over time, the Crypto.com management team has reaffirmed its commitment to compliance with local laws and regulations.
Adding to its regulatory achievements, on May 13, 2024, Crypto.com announced its membership in Adan, a leading association of digital asset and blockchain professionals in France and Europe.
“We are proud to become members of Adan as we share similar values and are aligned on our goals for the crypto industry in France and in the EU region – including our support of the upcoming MiCA regulation,”
said Anziani.
Meanwhile, the exchange has recently launched a new and improved mobile app in South Korea. The new app, Crypto.com App, replaced the local crypto exchange platform OK-BIT, which it acquired in 2022.
