On Wednesday, September 5th, Crypto.com announced via Twitter that users of Google Pay and Apple Pay Visa cards in Canada could now conduct transactions on the exchange.
Digital currencies have been widely adopted across a wide range of sectors and industries. Crypto.com is one of several online marketplaces where users can purchase cryptocurrencies and conduct financial transactions using digital currencies.
In its announcement, Crypto.com stated that the exchange would implement Google Pay and Apple Pay functionality for its Visa card users in Canada, highlighting the industry’s growing popularity. Users in the region who use the exchange’s Visa cards can now use Google Pay and Apple Pay.
The most recent blog post from the company details the process of adding the card. To access this service, users only have to upload their Crypto.com Visa card information to their Apple Wallet. This service was also available to Apple Watch users running iOS.
Android users would go through a similar process to add their credit card information to Google Pay. After an SMS OTP verification, users will be able to access the service.
The community speculated that other parts of the world would soon be able to use this function, which was currently only available to Canadian users of the platform.
The exchange has grown in recent months and has now reached several countries.
Although the exchange’s most recent move may increase people’s willingness to use cryptocurrencies, the ensuing technical issues may have the opposite effect.
