Crypto exchange Gemini has expanded its lineup of tokenized U.S. equities available to users in the European Union, adding 14 new stocks to its platform on July 14 as it continues to tap into the fast-growing tokenized securities market.
The fresh rollout introduces well-known brands spanning consumer goods, travel, software, and fast food, including Nike, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Uber, Adobe, Cisco, and Hut 8. These tokenized stocks are tradable around the clock and are backed one-to-one by real shares held with a regulated custodian through Gemini’s partnership with Dinari, a U.S.-based broker-dealer and transfer agent.

Gemini’s tokenized equities are issued on Arbitrum, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, enabling near-instant settlement, fractional ownership, and seamless 24/7 trading. The expansion builds on Gemini’s initial launch in late June, which introduced MicroStrategy shares for EU customers, followed by additions like Apple and Tesla.
This move reflects Gemini’s strategic focus on regions with clearer regulatory pathways for tokenized assets, such as the EU under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. Currently, U.S. customers are excluded from these offerings due to domestic regulatory constraints.
With a standard trading fee of 1.49%, Gemini aims to simplify access to U.S. equities for European investors while laying the groundwork for integrating tokenized securities into decentralized finance ecosystems.
Competition in Europe’s tokenized equities market is heating up, with exchanges like Bybit, Kraken, and Robinhood ramping up similar offerings. Analysts project that tokenized securities could scale into a multitrillion-dollar market by 2030 as global demand for on-chain financial assets accelerates.
Meanwhile, in February, Gemini took a significant step forward in its European expansion strategy by securing in-principle approval for an Investment Firm license in Malta. The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) ‘s approval paves the way for the company to offer regulated crypto derivatives, including perpetual futures, across the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA).
