ZOOT, a next-generation iGaming platform that merges video game dynamics with blockchain-based payments, has secured $6 million in seed funding to accelerate its global expansion.
The funding round was led by crypto-focused investment firm CoinFund, with additional backing from Griffin Gaming Partners.
The platform was co-founded by Sean Ryan, the former head of Facebook’s multi-billion-dollar gaming division, and industry veteran John Cahill, whose experience spans Sega, Yahoo Games, and OpenWager. Together, they aim to revolutionise real-money online gaming by removing common barriers, such as payment delays and geographic limitations, through the integration of stablecoins.

Building on his track record with OpenWager, acquired by VGW in 2017, Ryan emphasised that ZOOT is designed to “bring video game design principles to iGaming,” creating an environment that is not only entertaining but also transparent and instantly rewarding. Leveraging blockchain rails and stablecoins, the platform allows for near-instant global payouts with no transaction fees, offering a clear alternative to traditional gaming models.
Following its success in the U.S. sweepstakes market, ZOOT plans to deploy its stablecoin-powered system across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Its flagship titles, including interactive adaptations of Beer Pong and Plinko, reflect its vision of reimagining chance-based games with enhanced visuals, audio, and interactivity.
Commenting on the investment, CoinFund Managing Partner David Pakman said ZOOT stands out in a trillion-dollar real-money gaming industry. “With stablecoin adoption accelerating, ZOOT is well-positioned to deliver a mainstream crypto gaming experience worldwide,” he noted.
The newly raised capital will be directed toward scaling the platform, developing new games, and strengthening blockchain payment features. As stablecoins surpass $239 billion in circulation and are increasingly integrated by companies like Visa and PayPal, ZOOT is poised to set a new benchmark in Web3-powered gaming.
Meanwhile, demand for high-quality Web3 gaming is surging. Helium Wars, a AAA third-person shooter built on blockchain, launched its Testnet on the SEI Network to overwhelming interest, signalling growing momentum for skill-based, competitive crypto games.
