Global cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has officially joined India’s Sahyog Portal, a key initiative under the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) aimed at enhancing coordination between law enforcement and digital platforms.
According to a June 23 press release, with this integration, Bitget becomes the latest international crypto exchange to streamline data-sharing mechanisms with Indian authorities. The Sahyog Portal provides a centralized digital interface through which law enforcement agencies can directly submit requests for user data and transaction records—crucial for cybercrime investigations and digital asset compliance.

Bitget’s participation allows Indian agencies to access the exchange’s data under specific legal provisions, including Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act.
Commenting on the development, Hon NG, Chief Legal Officer at Bitget, noted,
“India’s regulatory and enforcement landscape around digital assets is evolving quickly, and aligning with initiatives like Sahyog highlights a practical step forward.”
Launched by the I4C under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Sahyog Portal acts as a unified gateway for managing legal cooperation between digital platforms and investigative bodies. It enables smoother handling of digital evidence, ranging from user information to crypto transaction logs.
As of earlier this year, over 45 crypto platforms have been onboarded to the Sahyog system, including major domestic and global players like WazirX, KuCoin, and Bybit. Law enforcement officials have confirmed ongoing discussions to integrate other top-tier exchanges, such as Binance, into the system as India intensifies its efforts to curb crypto-enabled crimes.
In related news, India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) dismantled a sophisticated transnational cybercrime network, confiscating over $327,000 worth of cryptocurrency in a sweeping operation that highlights the growing use of digital assets in global financial crimes.
The CBI’s recent crackdown targeted a group accused of orchestrating large-scale online scams that defrauded victims across several countries, including the United States and India.
